Alexandria, IN (11-18-05) -- Benjamin Gaither is featured in the animated film, Hoodwinked: The True Story of Little Red Riding Hood, slated for a Christmas release. "...Top-notch voice cast also includes Andy Dick as an ingratiatingly creepy bunny and Benjy Gaither as a singing goat who steals the show every minute he's onscreen...."

Reviews: Hoodwinked - Christianity Today Movies

"...Along the way, they meet a gaggle of amusing characters, including a talkative, seemingly insecure rabbit named Boingo (Andy Dick) and a streetwise, greased-hair sheep informant named Woolworth (Chazz Palminteri). But the most memorable of the bunch is Japeth (Benjy Gaither, son of gospel stars Bill and Gloria), a hillbilly goat who claims he always sings when he means to talk because of a spell put on him by a mountain witch..."

"...Other bizarre creatures somehow involved include the funky sheep Woolworth (Chazz Palminteri), the motor-mouth coffee-junkie squirrel Twitchy (played by a sped-up Cory Edwards) and the country-singing mountain goat Japeth (Benjy Gaither, who's a hoot)..."

"...Hoodwinked is funniest and most engaging when it drops the references and yields to more anarchic impulses, as with a hillbilly mountain goat (Benjy Gaither) whose dialogue is delivered entirely in the form of improvised bluegrass tunes..."

"...Edwards also gets in on the action, providing the rapid-fire patter for the hyperactive photojournalist Twitchy the Squirrel. He's a delightfully nutty character, and so is Japeth (Benjy Gaither), a warbling mountain goat whose enchanted horns are as flexible as his voice..."

"It has the line-up of silly supporting characters, like Japeth, a hillbilly goat with a hilarious assortment of detachable horns-for-every-occasion who lives with a curse that forces him to sing everything he says.""Two supporting performances deserve special mention: Benjy Gaither as Japeth the Goat, and director Cory Edwards as the Twitchy."

" He's the one pictured, and he's one of the greatest characters ever to grace an animated movie. I can't possibly explain to you how funny he was to me without sounding completely crazy, so I won't reveal anything about him other than what the still suggests."…Again, I must point out the genius of the goat pictured above, as Benjy Gaither's performance in Hoodwinked is the best in the film. It is his only screen credit, one can only hope he will get many, many more..."

Japeth the mountain goat (Benjy Gaither) has been cursed by a witch so he can only sing, not talk. Like a badge-wearing Boy Scout, he's always prepared thanks to his interchangeable horns. He doesn't have a real function in the film, except to entertain, but that's enough."

"The creators of HOODWINKED have a few hilarious characters up their sleeve, and Patrick Warburton shines as the voice of Wolf, a personality which plays with the audience's expectations of what the Big Bad Wolf should be....the most entertaining character, yodeling mountain goat Japeth (Benjy Gaither)"
